#VeryBadDaySweeps .@DisneyPictures (X 10/16/14)

BKFKAlexanderBadDay9.18.14
I’m always excited when great literature is made into movies for so many reasons.  Especially when the literature is a classic like Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day!  Everyone loves this go-to classroom read-aloud!  The lessons, oh, the lessons in this book!  How closely film makers stay to the story of the book is always interesting.  From the trailers on the website, I don’t recall a kangaroo in the book…..hmmmmmm?

I tried to talk to the managers of the local theaters to donate movie posters to advertise reading the book and seeing the movie for students and parents.  Nothing like a little movie hype to encourage reading.

Encourage the little (and not so little) readers to read the book, then watch the movie.  You might try partnering with the local theater for a school viewing of the film on a certain night as a fundraiser.  Creating family involvement just might lead to more readers, more parental involvement in school activities!

Find other ideas on the BKFK Educational Website!

You’re Very Bad Day could take you to Hawaii!  Share a photo of your VERY BAD DAY using #VeryBadDaySweeps to be entered.  You could create your own very bad day film on your trip!
