@TheBooksource Harry Potter #Giveaway (X 8/3/14)

BooksourceHarryPotterGiveaway7.27.14
I have a confession.  I have never read any of the Harry Potter books!  Gasp!  A librarian never read J.K. Rowlings’ UBER hit books?  I tried, I really tried, but they simply didn’t capture me.  But, I purchased more sets than I can count for the library for students to read.  Will you forgive me?

Booksource is kicking off Harry Potter week with a chance to win the Harry Potter series box set above.  Pop onto the Booksource FB page at the link below and like the post.  That’s it!

    I admit, the first one was hard to get into, but after halfway through I was hooked, never took more than a day to complete one once it came out!

    I have never read them, either, but both of our children, now 32 and 27, have built sets over the years. Our oldest was introduced with her first title through Amazon Canada because it had an earlier release date than in the States. Bad precedent to set as I, then, had to buy every new release at British prices. Our son, who was only just beginning to read young adult lit at the time received the Barnes and Noble US books as they were released. Now, as I said, this series never held an interest for me, but the rule in our home has always been, READ the book, then SEE the movie. Our younger one read three volumes a month before the first movie was released. He was obsessed after the first few pages. As our grandson was growing up, even as a toddler, he would beg his mother to read the books because he knew the movies were out there. Thankfully, she held off. She remarried and has a stepson 8 years older than our grandson, so, again, Nate was begging to read the series. Now, at 8, and an avid top-notch reader, he’s probably capable of reading the series, but maturity wise, I think these would be books better suited to middle schoolers. However, I’d love to win this set and be THE BEST GRAMMY in the world for giving him his own set to keep at his dad’s house where he lives.
