January features a Glass Dry Erast Board from BestRite, a $395 value!
I’m not sure about the practicality of this in the classroom, we all know glass is not the best idea. Since I’m not familiar with the product, can anyone enlighten us?
On the flip side, this dude is 6′ X 4′ giving you lots of room to write or draw with wet or dry erase markers, grease pencils and other markers. I could use this to become better organized here on Penniless Teacher!
Ends Jan 31, 2013

Hi,
Thank you so much for letting everyone know about our contests. In regards to your safety concerns, glass boards may seem like a hazard in a classroom but they’re really one of the most durable materials you can find. These boards are made from tempered glass which undergoes a long chemical and heating process that makes it up to ten times stronger than regular glass. Plus they have a steel backing for added strength that also means they’re magnetic. If you were able to break a glass board, they break into tiny pebbles, not sharp glass shards.
We have shipped thousands of boards and there has never been a single instance of the product arriving with broken glass. All of our products under go safety testing and come with a 25-year guarantee.
I hope this helps. Please let us know if you have additional questions. We are happy to answerer them.
