Stopped by Starbucks for my FREE coffee as Starbucks advertised on Facebook. At the drive thru, I asked if the store was participating in the FREE coffee with travel mug. The young man told me that was expired, because it was 2 or 3 months ago. I explained there was a new one TODAY for Earth Day. After consulting his manager, I was told the store was not participating.
Now, usually I’m okay with that. I understand if the promotion says “at participating locations.” Starbucks, however, did not state that in their Facebook Event.
Anyone else have a similar experience?

That stinks! Now I’m worried about going to my local Starbucks. They really seem to have gone downhill lately.

The Facebook page that showed that promotion linked to an article for earth day 2011. A Sbux spokesperson said that they are not doing this promotion in the US this year, only in Canada. 🙁
Kristin is right. Now that I looked closely, the link provided IS for 2011! However, I did get a free tea at my local Starbucks this morning. I guess the guy was in an especially generous mood!
