I have used a number of ways to help kids build character. They are challenged on their thinking using cognitive behavior therapy and motivational interview techniques. Students are held accountable for their behaviors and actions and are able to recognize when they do wrong on their own. Students are also given an incentive when doing what they are supposed to do. We are from an alternative school setting so do not have sport activities but this year we are hoping to implement a few physical activity courses to allow students the opportunity to engage in sports or workouts.
