Last day to enter…..
School libraries and librarians play a large part in schools, incorporating a mountain of media options for teachers, students, and parents to obtain one goal. Student success—after all, that is the ultimate goal of the education process.
Do you have the librarian who is vital to the school with creative programs, that could include community involvement, partners, and creating that welcoming space for patrons? Maybe you have that librarian pushing the tech envelop using apps, open content, digital storytelling, or Ebooks?
This is only a small part of the possibilities of entry options in the School Library Journal and Lego Education’s Build Something Bold Library Design Award for a chance to win AWESOME prizes.
Grand Prize:
- $5,000
- LEGO Education StoryStarter Classroom Set with software and curriculum
- Profile in a SLJ feature article in the November 2014

2nd Runner-up: $500
Editor’s Choice: $500
Everything in education is expensive, creating an engaging and welcoming library takes big bucks. You can’t go to the local big box store to purchase items because they just aren’t made for the ABUSE dished out by the school library community–aka, teachers & students. We’re talking brutal abuse aren’t we? Although $5K sounds like a lot of money, it is a drop in the bucket required to inprove and maintain the library. HOWEVER, no library will turn down funds!
Did your library receive a space makeover in the past five years? Then that library qualifies. Pass this on to your school librarian. Help her out by telling her what she has done for the students in your classroom with even a small makeover. Content is the captain of this contest. We have to start small with the end product in view.
Submission deadline: May 31, 2014 (11:59pm) assuming ET as no zone given.
