This one is close to my heart. I am a product of rural school and community. You couldn’t ask for any better education where everyone knows you and your family.
Rural teachers–apply for the 2012 Global Teacher Fellowship (Summer 2012) that will be awarded to 25 teachers. Teachers are encouraged to center their learning around international travel and study to create an interdisciplinary unit aligned to your specific state standards. Individual teachers will be awarded up to $5,000 while teams of two (or more) teacher could be awarded up to $10,000.
There are very specific schools and districts eligible, check carefully.
- December 15: Deadline for Notice of Intent to Apply
- January 15, 2012: Application deadline
- Mid-late February, 2012: Completion of selection process
- Late February–Mid-March, 2012: Notification of awards
