Raytheon Math Heroes Grant

Math teachers!!!  Raytheon MathMovesU is one grant you want to checkout!  

Up to three (3) awards of $2,500 each will be granted to Math Hero recipients in each of the nine target markets where Raytheon has a presence (AZ, CA, CO, FL, IN, MA, RI, TX and VA). An additional five (5) awards of $2,500 each will be granted to recipients outside of Raytheon’s target markets.

A matching award of $2,500 will be granted to the school where each recipient is employed or to another approved math-related nonprofit organization of the recipient’s choice. The Math Hero will direct how the funds are used by the school or other nonprofit organization.

This is a very detailed application, but well worth the time!

On a personal note, I was lucky enough to be selected for a summer fellowship with Raytheon.  I was sent to a very remote island (Ascension Island) to teach employees computer skills for 5 weeks!  Ascension Island is a tracking station that is both harsh and beautifully lush at the same time.  Raytheon is very generous to teachers.  I encourage all of you within a Raytheon market to apply!
