Our community was hit hard by Irma.  Granted not as hard as the Florida Keys and the islands, but hard none-the-less.  We’ve tried to take the challenges as lightheartedly as possible.  We were without water and power for days.  Most in our area have water, MANY are still without power.  My sister, Jenny,  takes to Facebook each evening to chronicle the days events.  Her RANTS have become quite humorous so I thought I’d share with you.

Irmageddon Day 1 was just boring stuff everyone was posting…we lost fence, lots of limbs down, no water and no power.  We’re starting with Day 2:

It’s HOT!

Well we got most debris cleaned up although I must say that there is a reason we don’t have trees around our pool.  Anyway, we appreciate our neighbors lending us their leaves, branches and limbs but we are finished with them so please come by and pick them up.

The pool is truly disgusting and will remain so until we can run the pool pump again.  We filled a huge garbage can with leaves and branches only from the pool!  There are still more in it but my poor guys were exhausted.

Kim:  Our neighbor shared there sh*& also we r so tidy but them nooooo it’s all in our green pool!

It’s HOT!

We are still without power and water but Leacy lent us their generator since they have power already!!!  How awesome is that?!

So the freezer and both fridges are hooked up and a nice oscillating fan to help with the obnoxious heat and maybe I will actually sleep tonight.  Definitely didn’t do much of that last night!

Katie:  Yes, so hot we survived the hurricane but then evacuated because it was HOT!

It’s HOT!

We road tripped to Penny’s for four desperately needed showers and now we smell better.  I’m hopeful Brevard County residents will realize what to do at a four way stop since 1/2 of the traffic lights are not functioning.  I think we will avoid traveling when possible for a while.

Mom finally got phone service and power just a few minutes ago so we might crash there tomorrow night.
