The worst day to be a teacher is approaching.  We all hate the sugar high students are on the day after Halloween.  Appeal to the sense of giving and hopefully convince at least half of your students (and parents) to give their goods to troops.

Before you start the brain washing, check the Halloween Candy Buyback website to locate a dentist in your area who will buy back the candy at $1 per pound.

IF there is a local dentist, start your discussion immediately.  Show students one of the many videos available on the website explaining the program and how their candy will be sent all over the world to troops protecting our freedom.  In turn, those soldiers give the candy to the local children who may not have the luxury of one meal a day, much less the TREAT of a piece of candy.
