Free Dyslexia E-book

NessyDyslexiaeBookGiveaway10.5.15
Teachers experience every reading hurdle known to educators throughout their careers.  Although we cannot “clinically” diagnosis dyslexia, we are well aware of the signs and symptoms along with interventions to help students learn to live with and overcome the disability.  How do you as the teacher of a student with dyslexia begin the conversation with parents?  You know the parent more than likely will be devastated with the word itself!  You know the parent will be overwhelmed with the information and will only hear the first few words you say initially.  You know the parent will go spend the entire evening on the internet researching the best options for their child.  You know this is a lifelong battle with many dyslexic individuals going on to lead very productive lives.  You know, yet still you must have that conversation.

Nessy.com has created an easy to read e-book that is available for free download this month.  Parents and teachers will welcome this graphical explanation to dyslexia as a starting point, although, both will return often to re-read!

Additional Dyslexia Resources:

  • National Center for Learning Disabilities
  • Dyslexia Reading Well
  • Dyslexia Materials
  • International Dyslexia Association

Do you have go to resources that have helped you, the student or the parents?  Please leave a link in the comments and we’ll add to our list.
