Hi Penny! The PEC notebook is filled with little cards that have pictures on them. An autistic kid who is non verbal can hand you a card to let you know what he/she wants or needs. To see this system in action would bring tears to your eyes. My grandson, who is three, is working up to this system at his special school. The older kids have these notebooks, and it’s an incredible system. I entered in hopes to get one for use at home. 🙂
