Floppets Review and Giveaway (X 12/15/12)

A few weeks ago, I stumbled upon THE cutest and probably the next big (little) item for kids.  Remember the rubber band bracelets available in any shape known to man.  Who would have thunk!?

As I looked at Floppets, I just knew they would be fantastic as motivational prizes for kids.  So I contacted the folks at Floppets!  Despite being displaced by Super Storm Sandy, samples were sent immediately.

I had one problem.  I’m no longer teaching and wanted to test these adorable Floppets in the real world.  AKA, a classroom with a teacher AND students.  I contacted my niece’s Kindergarten teacher enticing her with the promise of Floppets to use any way she wanted—after all, it was HER classroom.  Who am I to try to tell her how to run it?

Along with my proposition, I sent the link to the Floppets website.  I’m not sure who was more excited….her or me!

Upon arrival of the Floppets, I sent them via a one of a kind courier, my niece.  I didn’t want her to have any exposure to the Floppets until Mrs. C (her teacher) used them in class.  I sealed that envelope with tape so she couldn’t peek!

Mrs. C. rewards students with a Floppet when they are “caught being helpful to another student.”  The students had never seen a Floppet before and were completely thrilled to acquire such a RARE item!  Floppets are a little larger than a quarter attached to hook and loop band, making sizing no issue.

Then, an amazing thing happened.  One student put two and two together and was EXTREMELY nice to several students.  SCORE….she received a bracelet!  The bracelet is made by connecting several Floppets together with the hook and loop band.
Floppets can be worn in a plethora of ways and are unisex.  Both girls and boys love the novelty and ease of use.  Mrs. C witnessed Floppets as hair embellishments, on backpacks, shoes, fingers and wrists.  Parents inquired as to where to purchase Floppets!
I’m thrilled that we may have started a new trend in the school that will hopefully spread throughout the community, the state, and the country….insert evil laugh!

Enter to win a set of Floppets to start the Floppets trend at your school.
