Students are over the moon excited when they read their first book “all by themselves!” Over the years, I had hundreds of students come running (elementary students don’t walk), yes running to the library book in hand to read to me. It is just so dang cute and exciting! Hugs, high fives, dancing and cheering were always appropriate! Firstie teachers know exactly what I’m talking about!
