SCREAM!!! We’ve become #Noseblind!
noseblind [nohz-blihnd], noun;
The gradual acclimation to the smells of one’s home, car, or belongings, in which the affected does not notice them (even though their guests do).
Cue the party. A couple of friends came over to test our Noseblindness. Upon arrival Febreze asked my visitors to complete a survey on what the most prominent smell was in my home. EEEK!
Then we settled in to watch our movie, chat, and eat popcorn. What is a movie without popcorn? Does the smell of popcorn make your mouth water and you have just GOT to have your own bag of popcorn? The popcorn fragrance could be found in every corner of my home after popping.
Not detecting the odor proved our noseblindness! We breakout the Febreze spraying the entire house. Again we head out the door to allow our noses a breather for a chance to lose the noseblindness.
But Penny, why are you talking about Febreze? What does it have to do with a school setting? Teachers LIVE in one room sharing it with a LOT of students. The older the student, the stinkier they become with body odor. How many times in your teaching career have you had that body odor talk? Need I say more? Trust me, parents/guests visiting your classroom are NOT #Noseblind!

Rhonda Peña says
Oh, the smells! Stinky feet (especially after recess and PE) is one amongst many! I have to have a deodorizer spray handy for the times when someone doesn’t ask to go to the restroom and thinks it is something everyone wants to smell. Ugh! LOL!
And people wonder why I laugh when I say this is a definite teacher must have!
