Facebook is Killing us!

Facebook is at it again…..

continuing to make my life more difficult. 

Beginning January 1st, fan pages will no longer appear in your normal news feed.  Fans of Penniless Teacher must visit our Facebook Fan Page “DIRECTLY and INTENTIONALLY!”

This change is going to hurt in more ways than I can count.  I locate most of the teacher giveaways and contests through Facebook.  I literally must scroll through to find them since Facebook took away my search option.  If Facebook is going to remove fan pages from news feed, Penniless Teacher will not receive a news feed since we like fan pages not individuals.

I have been sharing the teacher contests and giveaways directly to Penniless Teacher Facebook page from the page posting the giveaway and then creating a blog post in the hopes that you would see one of posts about the giveaway/contest.

Your best course of action is to be sure to subscribe to Penniless Teacher blog via email.  Each day, around 3pm ET, an automated email is sent with the latest blog posts.

We’ll see how this plays out as Facebook continues to decide what and when we see in our news feed.  <heavy sigh>
