ETA hand2mind Review/GIVEAWAY

You wouldn’t believe the difficulty I have had getting this to post.  I’ve been working for hours!  Please, Please let me know if the Rafflecopter items are working.

Preventing the “summer slide” for children can be difficult for parents despite the efforts of the teacher and school to provide a plethora of resources.  ETA hand2mindgave me the opportunity to implement the Home Team Advantage Summer GoalAchievement pack.

You wouldn’t believe what is in this package.  I absolutely fell in love with the six week Summer Fun Calendar that is especially helpful to guide parents tutor their student throughout the summer.  Not only does the calendar provide parents with step-by-step lessons, but acts as a visual for both parent and student with check boxes and parents sign off when the weekly activities are complete.

My nephew just completed first grade and my niece is beginning Kindergarten this year.  Donald’s reading level is a high second grade, but he loved completing the books and then helping his sister to recognize words and “read” the story.

These two may not be in the majority of hating to sit down and complete school work, because they run to the table when “homework” is announced.  It doesn’t hurt that their mother and aunt (me) are both certified teachers.  Immediately the kiddos look at the chart to see what is to be done that day and adore the activities.

Of all of the products included in the Home Team Advantage Summer Goal Achievement pack, the reading rods were hands down the favorite of both kids.  The accompanying Reading Rods flipbooks are constructed of quality material that will last through much more than one summer encouraging learning.  We have “restaurant bags” in our cars so the children have a variety of items and activities to keep them busy (and lifesavers for us) while teaching patience while waiting for breakfast/lunch/dinner to arrive.  The Reading Rods and Flipbooks are now in the car in the super cool back pack for the entire kit.  I have to tell you that the adults play with them just as much as the kids do!  🙂

I know you’re asking, what does it cost?  At first the price may seem a bit steep at $64.95, but purchasing the items individually would far exceed the cost.  I’m a huge fan of the customization option available to schools to really drive home necessary skills work throughout the summer.  The ETA hand2mind folks have out done themselves with the content and construction of this FUN Home Advantage!

GIVEAWAY time!  ETA hand2mind is generously providing a Home Team Advantage Summer Goal Achievement pack to Penniless Teacher readers.  I’m trying something different with this giveaway.  The contest will expire on Wednesday, July 11 at 11:59pm.  This is a much shorter period than I usually allow.
