@Ed_Insights Kitten Caboodle & Diggity Dog Giveaway (X 6/11/14)

Last year, Educational Insights held a contest for pet owners (dog & cat) to enter their pets for possible selection as characters in upcoming games.  I entered my gorgeous kitty Fergie and she was selected!  I had NO idea what the game was until Educational Insights sent me the games, Kitten Caboodle and Diggity Dogs™!

Both games are geared to pre-school, but we loved them!  Donald is a stickler for rules in any game, reading the rules and enforcing until HE decides to change the rules 🙂

The objective of each game is to match cards with the items the animal is “thinking/dreaming” about in order to adopt that pet.  Game play is similar to Go Fish.  We developed our own response to a player when the requested item wasn’t in our hand….Go Pet!

The simplicity of both Diggity Dog and Kitten Caboodle make game play fast and easy for players 4+.  Surprisingly, the kiddos were very curious about each animal wanting to know more about them which is provided in short bios of each animal in the directions.  The bios bring the animals to life knowing they are real pets of real people!  Brilliant addition Educational Insights!  Below is our Fergie pictured on the Kitten Caboodle game box, game piece, and bio.

After playing both games independently, the children suddenly wanted to combine both games into one MASSIVE game.  We had to modify the rules just a tad to fit this new “invention.”  Like items in each game were combined, bowls, beds, comb/brush, etc so that either could be used for both cat and dog.

My niece and nephew are very accustomed to being test subjects loving trying out the new items we receive here at Penniless Teacher.  both Kitten Caboodle and Diggity Dog brought the question, “Do we HAVE to give the games to our teachers?”  SO, since our Fergie is in the game, these will stay in our possession instead of our Teacher Appreciation event each year.
