Need a project as you head back to school that could win you a boat load of books? Check out the Macmillan Cultural Reader Competition. The deadline has been extended until August 31, 2013.

Write your own Cultural Reader with your class. Tell about your town, city, or country. What historical, geographical, natural, cultural, food, and sporting events make your area a cultural hot spot?

How fun would this be to create with your class. Each student could create a page devoted to one topic. Don’t forget the illustrations!

Prize:

• The winning school will win 30 printed copies of their Cultural Reader book and a class set of Readers (30 Macmillan Readers) as selected by Macmillan Education. The two runners up will receive 5 Macmillan Readers of their choice from the current catalogue.
• The winning entry will be made available to the public for free in PDF form for downloading and printing on www.macmillanreaders.com
