Kim Orr, Principal: We got the tip on Penniless Teacher and entered Glidden’s Colorful Classrooms contest. We are now one of five national finalists in a head-to-head race for the most votes by October 26. Help us get 200 gallons of paint for our 57-year-old school. We are located in Gallup, NM, next to the Navajo Reservation and serve a population that is 59% Native American, 32% Hispanic, and 9% other. We passed 90% free/reduced lunch last year, as the economy has slammed our neighborhoods.

On KIPP NYC’s Facebook page I made it to the voting portion of their contest. My bulletin board is the quote ‘The ‘Earth’ without ‘art’ is just ‘eh’!” Its really easy to vote daily, all you do is click the ‘vote’ button! Thank you so much Teachers!
