I would really love to have this Common Core Standards kit for my first grade classroom. We are just starting with common core next year and I think this would provide a great guideline for my students and myself. I would like to display them daily. I love the “I can” statements.

I agree! We are required to post our standards/ objectives, but this year it has been a struggle because the kids have trouble with picking out the necessary skill sets from a very wordy standard. The I CAN statements would make this a breeze! 😀

The CCSS Kit would save me time because each standard is broken down into kid-friendly language my students can understand. With “I can” statements, it would be easier for each student to take charge of their learning.

My current kid-friendly standards set is not actually very kid-friendly. It still uses words that are not particularly appropriate for 1st graders and it takes up a lot of room. I would love to get this resource so I don’t have to spend time this summer searching for a new set or creating one on my own!

OH! The standards are broken down into math and LA and then by the anchor standards and math domains! That will be so easy to find the standards I want to work with. Those “I Can” statements will help with giving the students the objectives at the beginning of the lesson.

At my school, teachers are obligated to have a “teaching point” displayed for every lesson taught throughout the day. Due to the complex language used by the Common Core, creating “kid friendly” teaching points can be quite time consuming. This kit would afford me so much time when displaying the learning goal for the day. I could also use this to give students their own learning goals in kid friendly language that is already Common Core aligned!
