Teachers experience almost every disease via students throughout our careers.  We never know what a child or family may be facing and sometimes, we NEED to educate our students more in depth because of a disease a student is facing.

I had my share of diseases that I had to first educate myself in order to understand HOW to teach my students the necessary information families wanted to share.

The American Autoimmune Related Diseases Association (AARDA) provides teachers with free downloadable activities to assist in teaching.  This is not the type of material most school districts have available.  We know we have to go find it for ourselves.
