2013 Zaner-Bloser National Handwriting Contest (X 1/23/13)

With the recent debates of teaching cursive handwriting, the 2013 Zaner-Bloser National Handwriting Contest comes at an opportune time!

Schools should submit one winner for each grade for  students in Grades 1 – 8.  The school information form must accompany.

Submissions are due Jan 23, 2013

State grade level winners will receive a prize package for the student and school worth combined value of $250

National Public and Private grade-level winners will receive a prize package for the student and school worth a combined $750

Grand National grade level champions for public and private winners will be awarded $1,000 cash prize.  Each teacher of the Grand National Grade-level Champion will be awarded a trip to the 2013 International Reading Association Conference in San Antonion, TX.  Each school of the Grand National Grade-Level Champion will receive a $1,000 Zaner-Bloser gift certificate.

Winners notified May 1, 2013

    I love your blog! I just wanted to pop in to say that I think it’s so great that Zaner-Bloser has stayed committed to encouraging not just legible handwriting, but encouraging the teaching of cursive handwriting practice. (Some of us are NOT okay with it disappearing in school curriculum!)
    This contest gives kids an exciting incentive to engage in their handwriting practice. Not to mention those are some great prizes!

    Keep on letting us know about all these great opportunities!
